Camp Improv Utopia is proud to announce our official partnership to Camp Yes And, an improv day camp designed to support verbal teens (Ages 13-18) on the autism spectrum. We are very excited to work with Camp Yes And to help them grow and provide even more free classes to teens on the autism spectrum. A part of the proceeds we make from our camp registrations and merchandise sales will go toward this great organization. Camp IU has supported many improv endeavors outside of theaters and festivals over the years including The Detroit Creativity Project that gives free improv classes to students in Detroit that don’t have access to it. Please feel free to check them out and what they’re all about. You’ll be hearing more from us and if you have a chance please donate to them it’s such a worthy cause.
About Camp Yes And…
At Camp Yes And, teens and teachers learn improv as a way to develop social communication skills and transform teaching and learning. Sponsored by the Center on Education and Lifelong Learning and the Indiana Resource Center for Autism at Indiana University, the camp is designed to support verbal teens (ages 13-18) on the autism spectrum, or those with a similar diagnosis, who would benefit from support around building social communication skills. Camp also is a free professional learning opportunity for teachers — including para-educators, mentors, supervisors, etc. — of any discipline working in K-12 public or private, university, and/or community-based settings (e.g. arts or social services organizations).
